Abstract

Istanbul Kultur University provides a high quality higher education services with the awareness that it is possible to achieve its unchangeable goal of "exceeding the level of contemporary civilization", with the awareness that it is possible for our youth to receive a qualified education. Istanbul Kultur University aims for its students to speak languages other than their native language, to know the improving and changing technologies and use them, to have universal values, and to communicate with the rest of the world.

• When was Istanbul Kultur University founded?

Istanbul Kultur University, which was established by the Kültür College Education Foundation in accordance adopted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on July 9, 1997.

In the 1997-1998 Academic Year, Istanbul Kultur University started its activities in three faculties with 157 students and an academic staff of 32 people.

Istanbul Kultur University offers a total of 31 undergraduate programs, 10 in English and 21 in Turkish, and a total of 29 associate degree programs, 1 within the Vocational School of Justice and 28 within the Vocational School. Istanbul Kultur University also provides education in 45 thesis, 26 non-thesis master's and 9 doctoral programs in 24 branches of science and 4 main branches of art within the Graduate Education Institute.

Accommodation

Istanbul Kultur University provides comfortable accommodation conditions for its students with its dormitories in Bahcelievler. Our dormitories provide 359 students with the opportunity to continue their education in comfortable and reliable conditions.

Istanbul Kultur University girls dormitory has 2, 3 and 4 person rooms and has a bed capacity of 211 people.The rooms have bathroom, toilet (24 hours hot water available), bed, duvet, pillow, wardrobe, bedside table, desk, mini fridge, air conditioning and wireless internet.

Istanbul Kultur University boys dormitory has 2, 3 and 4-person rooms and has a capacity of 148 beds.The rooms have a bathroom, toilet (24 hours hot water), bed, duvet, pillow, wardrobe, desk and wireless internet.

Food

There is a restaurant and a cafeteria in the main building of Istanbul Kultur University, Şirinevler Campus. While hot meals are served in the restaurant only at lunchtime, you can get other things from the cafeteria any time during the day. 

In Istanbul Kultur University, Ataköy Campus there is a restaurant which can seat 400 people and a cafeteria. Besides, there is a VIP dining hall. It is big enough for 150 people and it is for the exclusive use of instructors. Also another dining hall for both students and lecturers and this can seat up to 250 people. The cafe next to the VIP dining hall serves all day as well.

Sport Opportunities

Sports activities at Istanbul Kultur University are carried out by the Sports Club established under the Student Clubs Association. The aim of the Sports Club is to bring together students, academic and administrative staff on the common ground of sports and to represent Istanbul Kultur University in inter-university sports organizations as well as to promote Istanbul Kultur University’s spirit.

The university administration continuously supports sports activities, team building, participating in and creating organizations and has a promotive role in the organization of such activities.

Sports activities at Istanbul Kultur University are conducted as three different programs.

Library

Istanbul Kultur University Library was established in the 1997 - 1998 academic year in order to support the educational and research activities of our university and to meet the information and document needs. It has a strong infrastructure that supports education and research programs, meets the information and document needs of faculty members, students and employees and enables them to follow scientific developments in the world day by day. Istanbul Kultur University Libraries gives service to users in Campuses at Ataköy, Şirinevler, and Basın Ekspres. The library collection consists of publications on health, engineering-architecture, business-economics, literature, international relations, psychology, law, molecular biology and genetics, reference books (encyclopaedia, journals, dictionaries) and publications on social and general subjects.
